The standard D4 PRO Work/Rescue Descender has become a favourite among Rope Access & Rescue professionals globally, largely thanks to its safety-enhancing panic-brake function. However, insights from seasoned 'Pro' users have revealed a demand for a version without this feature. Responding to this need, the D4PRO Descender was developed. It retains all the qualities of the original Work/Rescue Descender but omits the panic brake.

This modification is especially beneficial for longer descents and in rescue/belay situations, where users appreciate a more extensive 'sweet spot' for operation. The absence of a panic brake in the D4PRO means it cannot fully comply with ANSI Standards, but it is fully certified to EN 12841, where a panic brake is not a mandatory requirement.
